Lorne Bumstead

Valuation Specialist

After leaving the Assessment Office in 1989, where Lorne worked in Peterborough and Trenton, Lorne joined I. I. Nash Associates Ltd. to work as a property tax agent representing private industry and property owners. With a diverse portfolio of multiple types of properties, including Commercial, Office, Retail, Industrial, and Multi-Residential, Lorne has represented clients at all levels of Tribunal proceedings; with cases moving to the Ontario Municipal Board and from there to the Divisional Court, Court of Appeals, and even on to the Supreme Court of Canada.

In 2000, Lorne joined the Colt Property Tax Group as an Associate. In 2002, Colt Property Tax Group became Colt Realty Advisors Inc. operated jointly by Howard Colt and Lorne Bumstead.

During the early part of  2008,  the Assessment Consulting Industry moved under the Law Society of Ontario's control. Obtaining his licence in 2009 from the Law Society of Ontario, Lorne expanded his services offered and reincorporated under Bumstead Legal Services Professional Corporation; and moved the firm to Colborne.
